The Cisco phones ending in model numbers 2 and 5 are compatible; i.e., 7942, 7962, 7945, 7965, 7975 and 7985. In most cases these models will also include a "G" at the end of the model number but it is not required as some phones are marked with the "G" and some are not.
Software Requirements:
- The Cisco phone must have firmware 8.3(3)x or higher.
- The Cisco system must have the Cisco Unified Communications Manager 4.1(3)SR5x or higher with the cordless headset hook switch option enabled.
- You can check the status of the cordless headset option on your phone by
choosing the Settings button > scroll to Device Configuration > scroll to Media Configuration and reading the Headset Hookswitch Control setting; this setting is not the same as the headset enabled setting, look further down the list for Headset Hookswitch. The headset enables setting turns the headset port of the phone on/off.
Note: If your phone has the Cisco expansion module the Plantronics cable adaptor, part 40287-05 is also required.
